Slipsheeting Script
It’s not uncommon for us to receive requests from our customers to have slipsheets between every so many copies (25,50,100,500, etc). Unfortunately for our bindery people the RIP’s (Raster Image Processors) don’t have an option to put slipsheets every X number of sheets. I’m not quite sure why neither Fiery nor Creo think this feature is important but in the meantime I’ve created a simple InDesign script to set your document up for easy slipsheeting.
Install this script into your script panel and then run the script and it will prompt you for how often you would like a slipsheet. Enter the value and the script will duplicate your document so that each page is repeated that many times in a collated order. This file is now ready to be sent your printer. Most Fiery and Creo rips do have the option to set a slipsheet at the end of each set and by using this script you can enable that feature to get slipsheets however often you would like. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
